Can projects receive recognition for reused building elements in the Responsible Products credits?

Yes, reused building elements can be included in the Responsible Structure, Responsible Envelope, Responsible Systems and Responsible Finishes credits by:

  • Including the retained elements in the Responsible Products Calculator under reused products;

  • Submitting a Quantity Surveyor’s cost report outlining the retained value (by applying the cost rate of equivalent new materials) of the reused products; and

  • Providing supporting evidence of the retained elements such as:

    • Existing building plans;

    • Demolition drawings highlighting retained components; and

    • Photographic documentation of the reused products.
