Green Star FAQs
Do I need to commit to Performance v2 when targeting Credit 5 Commitment to Performance from Design & As-Built?
Yes, projects targeting Credit 5.1.1B Certified Operational Performance Rating using the Green Star - Performance pathway must demonstrate a commitment to Green Star Performance v2. This is due to all new projects being required to register under Green Star Performance v2 from 1 January 2025 onwards, therefore commitments to Green Star - Performance v1.2 are no longer applicable.
Please refer to the table below, which shall be used in lieu of Table 5.1.1B Green Star - Performance Credits from the Green Star - Design & As Built Submission Guidelines.
Performance Metric | Green Star Performance v2 |
Greenhouse Gas Emissions |
Energy Use |
Potable Water |
Water Use |
Operational Waste |
Waste Reduction |
Indoor Environment Quality |
Clean Air, Light Quality, Acoustic Comfort, Exposure to Toxins, Thermal Comfort or Movement and Place |
Projects must demonstrate that a commitment is in place to achieve a Green Star Performance v2 rating, and that one credit from at least two of the above performance metrics will be pursued. For example, the combination of ‘Energy use’ and ‘Clean Air’ is compliant, whereas the combination of ‘Clean Air’ and ‘Light Quality’ is not.
