FAQ F-00217
How does the v1.3 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Calculator calculate points for 'Off-site Renewables'?

The 'Points achieved through Off-Site Renewables' in the v1.3 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Calculator are calculated by providing 1.5 points for each point awarded for greenhouse gas emissions beyond the Conditional Requirement.

For example (using the Green Star - Design & As Built v1.3 submission guidelines):

  • 6.2 points are awarded for a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions
  • 2 of these 6.2 points are awarded for complying with the Conditional Requirement
  • 4.2 points are awarded for the project's energy efficiency reduction measures beyond the Conditional Requirement
  • Points awarded for off-site renewables are therefore 1.5 x 4.2 = 6.3 points
