Green Star Trade Marks
Green Star Certification Mark
The Green Star Certification Mark combines the Green Star Logo with a distinctive numerical device that designates a level of Green Star certification, the tool name and version and year of certification.
Once a project has been certified, the Green Star Certification Mark appropriate to the level of certification (4, 5 or 6 Star Green Star) may be used in collateral and other marketing materials to promote the associated Green Star project.
Green Star Certification Mark use
Use of the Green Star Certification Mark is authorised by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) only after a project is Green Star certified. Green Star registered projects may not use any Green Star certification marks. The relevant mark will become available for the applicant to download from the Green Star Project Manager upon certification.
Use of the Green Star Certification Mark on anything other than promoting a Green Star certified project is prohibited.
The mark may be used on business and marketing materials associated with a particular Green Star certified project. Additional uses must be approved by GBCA Marketing.
No other trademarks owned by GBCA may be used for promotion of your Green Star project.
GBCA has developed the following guidelines for use:

GBCA Trade Mark Policy - Referencing Green Star in product literature
The Green Star environmental rating system does not certify individual products. Manufacturers may reference Green Star in their product literature provided that the language neither states nor implies endorsement by the GBCA or the Green Star system. Furthermore, the language must clearly acknowledge that Green Star credit requirements cover the performance of materials, not the performance of individual products or brands. Therefore, products that meet the Green Star performance criteria can only contribute towards earning points needed for Green Star certification; they cannot be said to earn points towards Green Star certification on their own.
