Site Tour: Melton Library and Learning Hub

Join us on Thursday 3 April 2014 for a tour of Australia’s first Green Star library - the Melton Library and Learning Hub.

As part of only a handful of public buildings to be certified,  Melton Library in Victoria is a unique learning space that has been awarded a 5 Star Green Star – Public Building Design PILOT rating.

The library incorporates a range of spaces, including an 80-seat auditorium, community services including maternal and child health, ICT classrooms, a range activity and breakout rooms and landscaped space.

Building features include sustainable timber, a rainwater harvesting system, energy efficient lighting, photovoltaic panels and cyclist facilities for staff and visitors. This innovative public building also achieved a 94% reduction in the car spaces required.
