The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) and Lend Lease invite you to celebrate the launch of World Green Building Week 2011 at Sydney’s new environmentally sustainable development, Darling Quarter.
Join us on Monday 19 September for a special cocktail party at the new Sydney headquarters of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and to get a glimpse of this ‘World Leading’ 6 Star Green Star – Office Design v2 certified building.
In an evening of celebration, innovation and networking, we will examine the green building movement at home and around the world, learn how other countries are utilising green buildings to improve their outcomes for a cleaner and healthier environment, and toast to the achievements of Australia’s building industry which is leading the development of green buildings and precincts.
World Green Building Week is a time to celebrate your achievements and showcase your industry as a true green building leader.
About Darling Quarter
Awarded a 6 Star Green Star – Office Design v2 rating in September last year, Commonwealth Bank Place at Darling Quarter is a low-rise campus style new building development. Aimed at revitalising a neglected space on the Darling Harbour Foreshore and reconnecting it to the city’s CBD, Darling Quarter houses two eight storey commercial office towers, as well as a family and leisure precinct with retail and dining options, a new playground, children’s theatre and public car park.
Environmentally sustainable design features, including a highly efficient building envelope, chilled beam technology and a tri-generation plant, are expected to save 2,500 tonnes of carbon emissions each year and reduce mains water consumption by 92 per cent.
