Course details
Australia’s population is set to continue growing to 31 million people by 2030, which means an additional 197,000 new homes will need to be constructed per year.

Our homes are where we spend two thirds of our time, so it’s not surprising to hear that 57% of Australia’s built environment emissions come from our homes. If we are serious about limiting global warming to below 1.5 degrees, as committed to in the Paris Agreement, we can’t ignore our homes.

This is why we are committed to improving the standard of new homes built in Australia through a voluntary framework. Green Star for Homes is a national standard that assesses and certifies a home. Green Star certified homes will be nationally recognised as:

Healthy: ventilated, comfortable, with products that are better for you;
Resilient: water efficient and climate change ready; and
Net zero energy: fully electric, draught sealed, efficient and powered by renewables.

This webinar will provide an introduction to the Green Star for Homes draft standard and how it is aligned to other schemes and the proposed 2022 National Construction Code update.

This webinar is suitable to all those interested or working in residential housing and those wanting to know more about the Green Star for Homes standard.
