Course details
Insights into Responsible Products will tackle the challenges of trust, transparency and certainty during the product and material selection process.

This insights series webinar follows on from our Responsible Products and Materials seminar to further address the complexity of product certifications and the risks of product substitution at a later stage in the project. As we transition towards the new Green Star tool, building products and materials play a critical role to meet our sustainability targets.

In Insights into Responsible Products, we will consider latest industry developments to select and implement sustainable products and materials throughout a project.

What are the tools and strategies to facilitate the selection of responsible products? How to anticipate and avoid product substitution and ensure specified products are used through the project?

Our speakers in this webinar will provide a range of solutions and industry expertise to reduce risks and facilitate the processes to choose sustainable products and materials. They will tackle these questions and more, each presenting from their own perspective and then taking questions from the audience.

Jonas Bengtsson, Chief Executive Officer, Edge Environment will provide an update on the launch and use of the Building Products Information Rating database.

Simone Delaney, Sustainability Advisor, Frasers Property will share the experiences of material compliance and transparency for the Living Building Challenge on the Burwood Brickworks Project.

Joe Karten, National Sustainability Manager, Built will discuss methods and strategies to reduce the risks of non-compliant products when product substitution happens and how to limit it.

Nicole Sullivan, Senior Manager – Green Star Solutions, GBCA, will deliver an update on GBCA’s focus on building products, current developments in this area, and the need for collaborative action.

Pip Stone, Sustainability Manager, Bluescope, will comment on the role of manufacturers in the market and the incentives required to drive product sustainability strategies.
