Green Star foundations for Local Government

The Green Star Foundations course is ideal for those new to sustainability or who want to gain an understanding of the benefits derived from using the Green Star rating tools.

If you need a good understanding of how Green Star works, either for working on Green Star projects yourself, or to effectively engage with others delivering Green Star projects, this course will give you the insights you need.

This particular course has been tailored to focus on some issues specific to local government officers, and will also be useful to people from other levels of government as well as the wider industry.

This course is also part of our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program and the first step to gaining your Green Star Associate (GSA) or Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP) qualification.

Course format

This course is delivered in an online format consisting of two components:

1. Learning module available to complete in your own time ahead of the live session.  
2. An interactive live session to put what you have learnt in the module into practice, hear from a leading Green Star project and participate in live discussions with the presenters.

About Katy

Katy works with GBCA as Policy Adviser to support policy and advocacy activities and projects. Katy has over 10 years of experience in the sustainable built environment sector. Katy formerly led GBCA’s policy team and after leaving this role in 2016, has worked as an independent consultant with clients including New Zealand Green Building Council, Infrastructure Australia and EY.
