Webinar // Online, NAT
Buildings are responsible for one quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions and with existing buildings making up the largest proportion of our building stock, it’s critical we also focus on them as we decarbonise the built environment. In this session we’ll look at the importance of retrofits through case studies exploring portfolio-wide water and energy efficiency upgrades, commercial buildings and retrofitting in Australia and Singapore.
The webinar will also cover:
- life cycle implications of retrofits
- potential risks
- challenges and how to overcome them?
- how to reach financial viability
- how can Government policy and programs encourage existing building renovations- especially in the mid tier?
- why retrofit/ refurbish buildings including key drivers
- assessing the resilience of the building
Join the experts below in the discussion and don’t miss the opportunity to have your questions answered.
Speakers
Kabi Subramaniam - Arup Australasia
Associate Principal Asset Services Leader
About Kabi
I lead the Asset Services team in Arup’s Singapore office. I started my career as a structural design engineer and worked on several projects in Australia, prior to joining the façade team in Singapore. After years inspecting existing building facades and advising clients about potential risks on a portfolio of buildings, I now focus on existing assets and have a keen interest in remote monitoring and assessing assets using digital tools and technology.
Utilising my experience on existing building facades, I now manage multidisciplinary teams on asset services and provide strategic advice that is focused on our clients’ different needs to upgrade or restore the condition and ways of monitoring of assets.
