MORNING SEMINAR: FUTURE PRECINCTS
Driving social and environmental sustainability outcomes

Challenges to tackle are many to ensure the growth of our cities are sustainable and inclusive. So, how are we tracking? How are we designing and delivering new and renewal precincts that meet our environmental and social targets?

This half day seminar will provide a timely platform to discuss best practices, successes and challenges in this exciting and evolving sector. Join us to hear from leaders, experts and practitioners as they will share their visions, strategies and experiences.

AFTERNOON SESSION: GREEN STAR COMMUNITIES
From certification to implementation, Green Star Communities in practice

Tuesday 23 October 2018
2.00pm – 5.00pm

The morning seminar will be followed by an afternoon session focusing on the Green Star Communities rating tool. The session will provide a key opportunity for project team representatives to share their expertise, strategies and comments on the various stages of a project, from certification to implementation and recertification. The session will also provide a great occasion for industry members interested in the communities rating tool to hear more about projects.

The workshop will include Green Star Communities project presentations, group discussions and a workshop activity.

YOUNGHUSBAND WOOL STORE

The Future Precincts event will be held in the beautifully restored Younghusband Wool Store in the Melbourne suburb of Kensington. With Impact Investment Group developing the Younghusband industrial village to include over 40,000sqm over 3 stages of boutique office space across three levels, as well as various food and beverage, studio, and retail spaces.

James Fitzgerald leads the Younghusband rejuvenation project and will join a panel discussion at the event on what best practice sustainable precincts look like.
