“They don’t wrap fish in our work,” said acclaimed US architect, Hugh Newell Jacobson. And it’s true. Unlike yesterday’s news, the choices we make during the design, delivery and management of our cities leave an indelible legacy for future generations.
When the Australian Government launched its new national urban policy, Our Cities, Our Future, last month, it was the first time that a federal government had sought to outline its overarching vision for the nation's cities and how it would play a role in making them more productive, sustainable and liveable.

The 106,000 square metre Vanke Center in Shenzhen, China, was completed in December 2009 and the office part of the project has gained a LEED Platinum rating.
Hovering 50 feet above the ground, this new mixed-use "horizontal skyscraper" was developed by Stephen Holl Architects and the China Academy of Building Research.
