The City of Melbourne's vision and commitment have paid dividends - its Council House 2 has achieved the first Green Star - Office Design Six Star Certified Rating!
Welcome
I am pleased to announce that Council House 2 (CH2), a 10-storey office due for completion by the end of 2005, has been awarded Australia’s first 6-star Green Star Certified Rating under Green Star - Office Design v1.
CH2 is the future headquarters of the City of Melbourne Council and is the world's latest iconic green building.
In a ceremony today, the City of Melbourne was applauded for its vision, commitment and leadership in the green building challenge to reduce the environmental impact of buildings. Many talented people contributed to the innovative design solutions that helped the project achieve its 6-star status, including principal consultants and GBCA members Lincolne Scott/AEC, DesignInc and Donald Cant Watts Corke. The Council warmly congratulates all parties on this tremendous achievement.
