A brief history in 10 buildings

Last month, I marked 10 years at the helm of the Green Building Council of Australia as CEO. Nothing tells the story of the evolution of our industry better than the buildings the GBCA has been involved with constructing during that time. Reflecting on the 1,050 Green Star projects we’ve certified to date, a number stand out. They left an impact on me and the industry.

As one of the world’s busiest performing arts spaces, the Sydney Opera House is no stranger to the sound of applause. In 2015, the Opera House was awarded a

Unlocking the barriers to retrofitting

In December 2015, the South Australian Government passed legislation to allow Building Upgrade Finance agreements. This is a mechanism that tackles market barriers by helping building owners access loans to improve the energy, water and environmental efficiency of existing commercial buildings.
