Opportunities abound for old buildings

With increasing office vacancy rates in many capital cities, and more than 500,000 sqm of new office space coming online in the next six months, building owners need to think outside of the box to reposition older office stock. And there’s no better way to do that than with a Green Star rating.

Leadership leaves a legacy

This month, we say farewell to two sustainability advocates who have left their mark on the green building movement – including our own chief operating officer, Robin Mellon.

Bowden Development, Adelaide

Renewal SA’s Bowden Development is redefining sustainable living in South Australia. Each and every building delivered on the 16.3 hectare site must achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating – or above.  Renewal SA has raised the bar even higher, by committing to achieve a Green Star – Communities rating.

Australia needs a better building code

As an industry organisation, it’s important that we are on top of the issues that affect us all. So we made our voice heard on changes to the National Construction Code – we’re calling for better energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions targets that align with international standards.
