Heroes who change your life and the world as well

A magnificent Australian and dear friend passed away on the weekend. Phillip Toyne had a tremendous impact on the industry and the success of the GBCA and serves as a reminder that passion and persistence change lives – and change the world too.

Walking the sustainability talk

When 800-808 Bourke Street opened its doors in 2003, it was the first commercial office building in Melbourne’s Docklands and Green Star was in its infancy. But through a strong partnership, The GPT Group and NAB achieved Australia’s first Green Star – Performance rating.

A nation young and free or sedentary and fat?

Despite our reputation as an active nation, we are a country of couch-dwellers, with eight in 10 Australians not meeting the national guidelines for physical activity. The Heart Foundation’s ‘Blueprint for an active Australia’ outlines what the built environment industry can do to get Australians moving again.
