But by ignoring our wins we miss a vital opportunity to encourage greater success. Celebrating success reminds us of why we set our goals in the first place. Celebrating success also reinforces that change does matter - that it is happening here and now - and that change need not be a scary thing.

Last month we appointed five new Board Directors who will help us drive industry engagement and collaboration and deliver our Green Star 2014 program of works. The new Directors are Tanya Cox from Dexus Property Group, John Flecker from Brookfield Multiplex, Mark Gray of Leighton Properties, Rob Sindel from CSR and Mark Steinert of Stockland.

The City of Sydney’s Better Buildings Partnership has released new data showing that its members are saving more than $25 million a year on electricity bills and have reduced their buildings’ emissions by an average of three per cent per year from 2005/6 despite a 14 per cent increase in the amount of space leased over the same period.
