AIRAH Calls on Building Services Engineers
AIRAH is seeking to have the occupation of “building services engineer” formally recognised by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. To this end, it is requesting that engineers who work within the HVAC industry take a few moments to complete an online survey.

SEED Engineering
“It was an easy decision for SEED to become a sponsor of Green Star – Performance because as an organisation we feel strongly that existing buildings should be recognised for their holistic sustainability features. Often these features were installed in times when building performance was not considered to be as important as it is now, and currently these buildings are not recognised to be ‘green’, but simply ‘old’. Green Star – Performance will provide an operational pathway to Green Star certification for these buildings.”

Rob Lord, Managing Director, SEED

World Green Building Week - Green buildings for great communities
By Romilly Madew, Chief Executive, Green Building Council of Australia

*Source: World Green Building Council

Recently, the global green building movement reached a momentous milestone: 1 billion square metres of registered green building space.

While this is an incredible achievement, a city of green buildings does not a sustainable community make.

It is clear that we must expand our focus beyond buildings to the sustainability of our communities and cities.

From 17-21 September 2012, the global green building movement will unite for World Green Building Week.

This year, more than 90 green building councils representing 25,000 global organisations will come together to highlight the importance of ‘green buildings for great communities’. Read more
