Green Star News

Restrictions on 'Design' ratings strengthen Green Star
From 1 January 2013, Green Star – Design ratings will be valid for two years, as the Green Building Council of Australia introduces time restrictions to strengthen the robustness of Australia’s environmental rating system for buildings.

Easy access to Green Star experience
Green Star Revolution promised to give you access to additional expert technical advice.

Green Star - Interiors
Imagine being able to assess the interior fitout of any building type – whether that’s a hospital, a school, a shop or an office.  The Green Star – Interiors rating tool will be able to do just that.

Green Star – Public Building v1
The Green Building Council of Australia launched the Green Star – Public Building PILOT in October 2010.

Development of ‘deemed-to-satisfy’ criteria
As part of Green Star Revolution, we promised to reduce documentation requirements.

Green Star Online
The Green Building Council of Australia is taking Green Star online.

Green Star - Custom
Green Star – Custom is looking for hotels and data centres!

Green Star – Performance
The release of our new rating tool for holistic operational performance draws nearer, with draft content for 32 credits in eight environmental categories having been developed.

Green Star – Communities
It’s almost here!  After four years in the making, 38 sponsors and supporters, 135 members of technical working groups and committees, and 35 credits refined down from 85, the Green Star – Communities rating tool is almost ready for release.

Standard submission templates and guides
One of our Green Star Revolution commitments is to decrease the cost of certification.

Pre-assessment of credits
We are modifying the Green Star certification process to allow pre-assessment of critical credits prior to the official certification process.

Milestone for common modelling methods
We’ve reached our first milestone in attempt to deliver common energy modelling protocols for Green Star, NABERS and the Building Code of Australia ‘Section J’.

Assessor training and auditing
Green Star Revolution aims to ensure fair, robust assessment by improving assessor training and quality, and conducting regular audits and increased quality checks.

Certification workshop
Did you know that all projects have access to a complimentary certification workshop? You can choose to send four people from your team to a public workshop or speak with your case manager to organise an in-house workshop for your team.
