Schneider Electric begins new era of success at Macquarie Park Green Star Head Office
Schneider Electric, the world's global specialist in energy management, today announced that it has chosen 78 Waterloo Road, Macquarie Park (North Ryde) to be its new home in Sydney.
Schneider Electric will occupy 7900 square metres or four floors of the eight storey building. The building was completed in June, 2009 and is valued at $65 million. It is regarded as the premier office building location in the entire Macquarie Park commercial precinct. Some of the world's biggest brand names; Sony, Microsoft, HP, Johnson & Johnson are neighbours. The site is close to the CBD and universities. It provides a dynamic environment for Schneider Electric.
78 Waterloo Road has a low carbon footprint. Already it has been awarded an impressive five star (Australian Excellence) Green Star Office Design v2 rating and is designed to be rated to a five star NABERS energy rating.
The move to the new location will see Schneider Electric consolidate a total of nine current Sydney offices into the new site. More than 600 employees will call the state of the art building home including staff from Schneider Electric brands such as APC and Clipsal.
The Macquarie Park site was chosen by Schneider Electric on the recommendations of Stockland. The Stockland owned site was a great fit for Schneider Electric, offering the best possible outcome for personnel coming from many locations.
"This is an exciting time for our company and our people," said Lionel Finidori, Managing Director, Schneider Electric, Pacific Zone.
"As a global specialist in energy management, this move to a new state of the art sustainable facility will allow us to showcase what we do best in terms of energy efficiency and solutions. 78 Waterloo Road will also provide our people with a better place to work in and to collaborate. We recognise that having colleagues working alongside each other across the Schneider businesses, improves customer services, business development and sharing of best practices."
Schneider Electric staff can anticipate a modern working environment with innovative design values, pure functionality and environmentally friendly use of materials and features.
Externally the building features a very contemporary design with extensive use of double glazing and sun shading. Office floors consist of two pods interlinked by a central core that overlooks a full height atrium allowing plenty of natural light to permeate into the workspace.
The move into the new location will commence in stages from October, 2010 through to completion in 2011.
