New era for Floth
To celebrate 25 years in the business, George Floth Consulting Engineers has treated itself to a fresh new name, new look and a new Sydney headquarters.
After conducting surveys of staff, clients and other industry players, the company has shortened its name to Floth - a nod to the legacy of its founder and CEO, George Floth while recognising the growth of the business.
Floth managing director George Floth said the re-branding process was a great chance for the company to re-define itself to the marketplace.
"This 25 year mark was the perfect opportunity for us to take stock, plan and position ourselves for our next phase of growth," Mr Floth said.
"Our technical expertise in building services has always been first-rate but now we've realised that we need our brand to demonstrate who we are and what we do.
"We're producing some really exciting work in the areas of ecologically sustainable design (ESD), computational fluid dynamics and 3D modelling, in addition to the mechanical and electrical building services engineering we're widely known for."
With 71 employees in Sydney, Brisbane and Jakarta, Floth's engineers are fast earning reputations as experts in ESD.
Recently, Floth's Brisbane office played a major role in earning Leighton Properties and Leighton Contractors' Green Square North Tower the status of Queensland's first built 6 Star Green Star building.
Floth's sophisticated mechanical and electrical building services design for Green Square included Australia's largest co-generation plant (reducing carbon emissions by 73% compared to a normal office building of that size) and 160,000L rainwater harvesting system (reducing water consumption by 1.4 ML/y).
"Our philosophy is that the future of building services must integrate sustainability with practicality," Mr Floth said.
"We have worked with many clients to bring their green visions to life and we look forward to learning from these successes and building on them in the future."
Floth has provided engineering and sustainability services on a number of high profile projects including Green Square, HQ, 400 George Street and King George Central in Brisbane, and Westpac Place, 101 George Street, Parramatta and 20 Bond Street in Sydney.
