Advanced Environmental is now Built Ecology
Specialist sustainable design service, Advanced Environmental, is re-branding and expanding.
Advanced Environmental is the specialist sustainable design service of WSP Lincolne Scott.
"Built Ecology is the new name for Australia's first and foremost consultancy dedicated to progressive environmental design, which coincides with the opening of two new offices," said WSP Lincolne Scott Managing Director, Ché Wall.
"For the past 14 years Advanced Environmental has led the way in the delivery of world-leading services across Australia, with the basic tenets of no 'green-wash', always looking beyond compliance, and only celebrating projects that get built - and that will remain unchanged under the new name of Built Ecology.
"But as demand for the team's unique services grows exponentially, and new offices open in Brisbane and London, the time is right to refine the brand name to better reflect what they're about."
The new offices will complement existing offices in Sydney, Melbourne and San Francisco, with global coordination of the Built Ecology brand and services by Matthew Jessup.
Mr Jessup, who will remain in Sydney, is the Global Leader of Built Ecology and a Principal of WSP Lincolne Scott. He has been with Advanced Environmental for ten years, having joined the firm as a graduate.
"The growth of Advanced Environmental and its transformation to Built Ecology is indicative of the growth in demand for our unique services, but also of the shift in the broader market," Mr Jessup said.
"With offices in London and San Francisco - two markets widely recognised as the most progressive in sustainable design - we are better tapped into the growing area of green building policy development, to the benefit of our clients in Australia and elsewhere.
"Our clients also benefit from a truly global service and capacity across the wider WSP Group, in partnership with WSP Flack + Kurtz in the USA, WSP Lincolne Scott in Australia and now WSP Buildings in the UK."
Mr Jessup said the new London and Brisbane offices will be led by experienced staff from existing offices in Australia to ensure consistency of approach and capacity.
Patrick Campbell has gone to Brisbane to lead a local team in one of the busiest green building markets in Australia. The Brisbane office is working on the $450 million Queensland Police Academy at Wacol and a 44-floor, 62,500 square metre office tower at 111 Eagle St on Brisbane's major CBD waterfront.
Matthew Payne has transferred to London to provide services through Europe and enable Built Ecology to better support London-based architects working on projects in Australia. The London team is currently working with Brookfield Multiplex on the £110 million redevelopment of the prominent Castle House site at the Elephant & Castle, with a landmark energy efficient 408 apartment residential tower.
Previous Built Ecology (Advanced Environmental) projects include the 6 Star Green Star - Office Design certified CH2 in Melbourne and Macquarie Group Building in Sydney, and the Melbourne Convention Centre.
