Membership for subsidiary companies

Subsidiary companies can become members of the GBCA for a nominal flat fee of $500 plus GST per subsidiary company. Subsidiary annual turnover must be included in the parent company's turnover bracket to be eligible for this membership and will enable subsidiary companies to receive member benefits including:

- membership recognition on website and certificate
- access to member-only content on the GBCA website
- member discounts on courses and events

Subsidiary companies are not classified as financial members of the GBCA and are not eligible to vote at the GBCA's annual general meeting. Divisions of companies cannot use this structure, nor can federated companies.

Affordable membership

The GBCA encourages all Australian organisations with an interest in green building practices and sustainability to join the Council, and so offers a variety of membership categories, as well as fees based on company size and gross annual turnover. We are also committed to affordable membership. In 2008, membership fees increased by 5 per cent for the first time in five years, and the extra revenue will ensure the GBCA can deliver more benefits to members.

Membership fee alignment

In August 2007, the GBCA implemented a new membership period whereby organisations paid the pro-rata amount from the date they first joined the Council to 30 June 2008. From 1 July 2008, all new membership are invoiced on a financial year period at the pro-rata amount from the date joined through to 30 June 2009. All existing member organisations will be re-invoiced in June 2009 for the next financial year period through from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010.
