NEWS:
New membership for Subsidiary companies
The GBCA has identified an increasing number of member organisations expressing interest in including subsidiary companies under a parent company membership.
In addition to the standard membership fees, subsidiary companies are listed as a member of the GBCA. The parent company will be invoiced a nominal flat fee of $500 + GST per subsidiary allowing the subsidiary company to be treated as an individual member receiving all the member benefits such as access to member-only content on the website, the ability to book for courses and events at the member rates (using the subsidiary company name and not the parent company name), membership certificate, other mail-outs and their own member listing on our website. However, as subsidiary companies will not be classed as a financial member of the GBCA, they will not be eligible to vote at the Green Building Council of Australia's AGM.
Divisions of companies cannot use this structure, nor can federated companies.
New Membership category - Building Tenants
As more organisations move into Green Star buildings, the Green Building Council of Australia has introduced a new membership category called "Building tenants". All corporate tenants can now receive all of the great benefits available to current Green Building Council of Australia members.
Building tenants category may only be used where the organisation's activities do not fall within any of the other existing membership categories.
Tenants can now register on-line and join other leading organisations helping the Green Building Council of Australia achieve its mission to create a sustainable future.
For further information on this new category, contact Louise Ong, Membership & Sponsorship Co-ordinator via louise.ong@gbca.org.au
5% increase on membership fees
For the first time in 5 years the Green Building Council of Australia has decided to raise its membership fees by 5% due to increasing expenses and budget demands. The increase will take effect from the 1st July 2008 and will enable the Green Building Council of Australia to continue to develop a sustainable property industry for Australia and drive the adoption of green building practices through market based solutions.
Membership Fee Alignment
In August 2007 the GBCA implemented a new membership fee structure whereby organisations paid the pro-rata amount from the date they first joined the Council to the 30 June 2008. All new membership from 1 July 2008 will be invoiced on a financial year period at the pro-rata amount from the date joined throught to 30 June 2009.
All member organisations will be re-invoiced in July 2009 for the next financial year period through to 30 June 2010.
