Membership and benefits overview

The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) is funded by membership and sponsorship. As of August 2008 over 650 companies became members in an effort to support the Council and its activities. Membership is a diverse cross section of Developers, Government (local, state and federal), Owners, Professional Services, Investors, Manufacturers/Suppliers/Distributors, Universities, Facility & Assett Managers, Professional societies, Utilities and Contractors. These organisations enable the GBCA to continue to develop a sustainable property industry for Australia and drive the adoption of green building practices through market based solutions. The benefits of membership include:

1. Intelligence: access the latest green building news, research on building green, and information about Green Star. There are reports and podcasts on our website which can only be accessed by members.
2. Influence: make a difference by nominating yourself or someone appropriate from your organisation to be on our Board or one of our committees, and have a say in the future direction of the Council.
3. Value: receive discounted prices for Green Star courses and GBCA events; a 20% discount on a subscription to ecospecifier; complimentary subscriptions to FuturArc and a complimentary issue of the AIRAH magazine.
4. Support: receive priority support in the use of Green Star tools and also ensure your interests in sustainable building practices are supported by Council representations to policymakers and regulatory bodies.
5. Recognition: use the member logos on your communication and promotional materials and tell the world of your green credentials. Members can exclusively advertise jobs on the Green Building Council and Future Green Leaders websites.
6. Network: connect with other green building advocates and practitioners at our sustainability events such as Breakfast with the Stars, Greens on the Green, Boardroom lunches and dinners, Site Tours, Green Star tool launches and forums.
7. Sponsorship: Sponsorship is exclusive to members. Demonstrate and profile your green leadership by sponsoring a Green Star rating tools sor Green Building Council events, courses and/or publications.

The various benefits of Membership cannot be enjoyed until the activation of your full membership has been completed.
