New design scholarship for students

Thu 11 Sep, 2008 Media Releases

The Green Building Council of Australia together with leading global carpet manufacturer, InterfaceFLOR, has launched a new interior scholarship program.

The InterfaceFLOR Interior Design Scholarship 2008 was launched in Sydney at the Green Building Council of Australia event featuring Chairman and Founder of Interface Inc, Ray Anderson.

Interior Design students enrolled in an Australian university or TAFE college are asked to provide their own personal philosophy for designing truly green and sustainable interior space.

The five selected winners will be presented with prize packages worth over $16,000 each, including a place on the popular Green Building Council of Australia Green Star Accredited Professional course and the Green Star - Office Interiors Advanced Course.

Romilly Madew, Chief Executive from the Green Building Council of Australia, said this scholarship reflected the commitment of the Green Building Council of Australia in shaping the future generation of industry professionals.

"The Green Building Council of Australia has already offered students an information source and a contact with the green building industry through the launch of the Future Green Leaders initiative, launched earlier this year."

"As an organisation, we share InterfaceFLOR's commitment to environmental education. Green buildings are not a phase and we must prepare the designers of the future to make the right, and most sustainable, design choices."
