Green Star - Industrial PILOT assesses the environmental attributes of new and refurbished industrial facilities against the eight categories of Green Star, plus innovation. Categories include: management, indoor environment quality, energy, transport, water, materials, land use and ecology and emissions.

Green Star - Industrial PILOT is intended to assess buildings with a minimum of 80% of the building's Gross Lettable Area (measured to exclude internal carparks) as BCA Class 7b and/or Class 8.

Green Star - Industrial PILOT was launched on 2 October, 2008 and is applicable to new industrial facilities, extensions to and major refurbishments of existing industrial facilities, provided that they meet the Green Star Eligibility Criteria and are not eligible for any other Green Star rating.

The GBCA accepted expressions of interest from project teams wishing to have their designs rated under the Green Star - Industrial PILOT tool until 30 October, 2008. PILOT projects have been selected and currently undergoing the PILOT assessment process.

Industry stakeholders as well as projects selected to be certified under the PILOT tool are encouraged to test the tool and submitt feedback to the GBCA. To make this process as fast and convenient as possible, an easy to use web based feedback form has been created.

The GBCA guarantees confidentiality; the information provided will be used solely for internal review purposes and no personal/company data will be disclosed to third parties. Stakehoder feedback is very important and will inform version 1 of the tool.
