Green Star - Custom

Since 2003, the Green Building Council of Australia has released environmental rating tools for the design and construction of office buildings and fit outs, retail centres, schools and hospitals, multi unit residential dwellings, public buildings and industrial facilities.

More than 350 projects have achieved Green Star ratings, which confirms each project's environmental credentials with a third party certification that the market can understand and trust.

But what if your project isn't eligible to be assessed under any of the current Green Star rating tools?

In 2010, the GBCA launched Green Star - Custom, a revolutionary new rating tool development service which enables projects outside the scope of current Green Star rating tools to achieve Green Star certification.

What is Green Star - Custom?

Green Star - Custom is a service for developing rating tools for the design and construction of projects outside the scope of current Green Star rating tools.

If your project is a supermarket, a restaurant, leisure centre, data centre, retirement village, big box retail building, or a mixed use project, you or your team can work with the Green Star - Custom team to develop a Green Star rating tool specific to your sector or project.

Once your rating tool has been developed, you will be able to register your project for Green Star certification, using your custom-built Green Star rating tool.

Approved Green Star - Custom rating tools

Four organisations have worked with us to develop their own Green Star rating tools through Green Star - Custom.
