Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA)

Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA), six GECA Standards are recognised by the GBCA, as follows:

• GECA 28-2010 v2 - 'Furniture and Fittings' - Level A recognition;
• GECA 50-2011 v2 - 'Carpets' - Level A recognition;
• GECA 25-2011 v2 - 'Floor Coverings' - Level A recognition;
• GECA 04-2011 v2 - 'Panel Boards' - Level A recognition;
• GECA 40-2008 v1.1 - 'Hard Surfacing' - Level A recognition;
• GECA 28-2006 Modified 2010 v2 - 'Furniture and Fittings' - Level B recognition.

Both GECA Furniture and Fittings Standards correspond with furniture related Material Calculators in Green Star rating tools (Chairs, Tables, Workstations, Storage, and Loose Furniture).

The GECA Floor Coverings and Carpets Standards correspond with the Flooring Calculator in Green Star rating tools.

The GECA Panel Boards Standard corresponds with both furniture and assemblies (Ceilings, Walls, Partitions and Joinery) related Material Calculators in Green Star rating tools.

The GECA Hard Surfacing standard corresponds with Flooring and Walls and Partitions calculators in Green Star rating tools.

Note: The previously recognised GECA 28-2006 Modified 2010 v1.1 - Level B recognition, was replaced with v2 in December 2010. Product certified to GECA 28-2006 Modified 2010 v1.1 will continue to be rewarded until the expiry date of the certification.
