Achieving points with Green Star Materials Calculators
It is a common misunderstanding that in order to be awarded with Green Star points for fitout products in Material Calculators credits, project teams must select products that are certified by one of the certification standards recognised by the GBCA. This is not the case.
The Green Star Materials Calculators enable project teams to input various product details and, provided it meets Green Star's requirements, awards points accordingly.
Full detail of the various Materials Calculators criteria and compliance requirements can be found in the Material Calculator Guide.
Project teams that choose products that are re-used or certified by a GBCA-recognised certification standard may find it simpler to complete the calculators, further, other assessment criteria (such as product stewardship and design for disassembly) are also rewarded by the Materials Calculators. A product that has not been certified could achieve 100% of available points in Material Calculators.
