Green Star - Communities Rating Tool
The Green Star – Communities PILOT rating tool is due for release in June 2012.
The rating tool will assess the sustainability performance of projects’ planning, design and construction outcomes across six categories:
- Liveability
- Economic
- Environment
- Design
- Leadership and governance
- Innovation
The PILOT rating tool will contain more than 30 detailed credits, which outline best practice sustainable outcomes.
During the PILOT process, the Green Building Council of Australia will test the tool on a diverse range of development types, including small infill development projects and large greenfield sites. Campuses, neighbourhoods and other development projects undergoing renewal within the context of a master plan will also be piloted.
Expressions of interest documents for PILOT projects will be released in June 2012.
