Fri 13 Jun, 2008 (Updated: Fri 17 Dec, 2010)

The Green Building Council of Australia developed Green Star to be a comprehensive, national, voluntary environmental rating scheme that
evaluates the environmental design and construction of buildings.

Sector specific Green Star tools have been developed to evaluate the environmental sustainability of many distinct building types.

The following Green Star certified ratings are available:

  • 4 Star Green Star Certified Rating (score 45-59) signifies 'Best Practice'
  • 5 Star Green Star Certified Rating (score 60-74) signifies 'Australian Excellence'
