Site Tour - RMIT Swanston Academic Building

Join the GBCA team as we take a tour of the RMIT Swanston Academic Building on Monday 15 October 2012. Recently achieving a 5 Star Green Star – Education Design v1 certified rating, the Swanston Academic Building is RMIT’s biggest green infrastructure investment, adding 35,000 square metres of green education space to the university's city campus.

Providing a new home to the RMIT College of Business and incorporating more than 80 teaching spaces, Swanston Academic Building’s dramatic triangle façade encompasses ESD features including rainwater harvesting and grey water recycling, natural ventilation provision and leading-edge wireless infrastructure.

‘Student portal’ areas serve to encourage student collaboration and engagement and facilitate “plug and play” learning, while the façade itself has been specially designed to optimise heat load while offering a striking point of interest within the heart of the CBD.
