Site Tour - 420 George Street Sydney
Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) will be taking a tour of 420 George Street on Tuesday 22 May 2012. A 40-storey development, 420 George Street was awarded 5 Star Green Star - Office Design v2 certification in late 2008, going on to achieve 5 Star Green Star - Office As Built v2 certification in February 2012. Two of the building's tenants - Jones Lang LaSalle and AECOM - are also currently targeting 5 Star Green Star - Office Interiors v1.1 for their individual fitouts, demonstrating additional commitment by the building's end-users to ensuring optimal building performance.
Centrally located in Sydney's popular George Street shopping precinct, 420 George Street incorporates several levels of retail in addition to the 33 floors of commercial office space. Sustainable features of the building include a high performance glazed façade offering natural light to the office levels while optimising heat load, dual air-conditioning system combining an active chilled beam system in the perimeter zone with variable air volume (VAV) to the centre zones, energy-efficient T5 lighting, water efficient fixtures, and storm water collection and reuse provisions for toilet flushing between the ground floor and level 12 and for irrigation of the level 5 and level 14 terraces.
