Green Star Accredited Professional Courses
Tue 13 Jan, 2009 Green Star Accredited Professional
If you want to learn more about green building practices and how to apply Green Star rating tools to your building projects, then register for the Green Star Accredited Professional course.
The Green Building Council of Australia's (GBCA's) flagship course, Green Star Accredited Professional, is held over one full day in capital cities throughout Australia and focuses on the content and application of Green Star rating tools.
Attendees also gain an introduction to the GBCA and an overview of the impact of buildings on the environment. The format consists of lectures, Q&A, case study and a workshop.
When you attend the Green Star Accredited Professional course, you'll:
- learn how to apply Green Star tools to your projects
- gain a better understanding of green building practices
- connect with like-minded individuals in the property industry.
Once you have completed the Green Star Accredited Professional course, you will be encouraged to sit the Green Star Accredited Professional exam to become a Green Star Accredited Professional.
Who attends?
Course participants come from an increasingly diverse range of professions - including academics, architects, contractors/builders, cost planners, engineers, facilities managers, general managers, interior designers, landscape architects, marketing managers, policy advisers, product manufacturers, project managers, quantity surveyors and lawyers.
Why attend?
While people's reasons for attending vary, most want to enhance their understanding of how to effectively implement Green Star tools on their projects.
Others attend the course to boost their own qualifications and standing within their industry. Green Star Accredited Professionals are highly sought-after for their knowledge of Green Star, and their extra credentials can benefit their company - when a project team engages an Accredited Professional, for example, the project may claim two points towards its Green Star rating.
Green Star Accredited Professionals also gain extra industry recognition through the Green Star Accredited Professional Directory.
Costs
The Green Star Accredited Professional course costs $550 per person for GBCA members and $800 per person for non-members.
The course fee includes tuition, training notes, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
Technical manuals can be ordered separately online. When you register for a course, you will receive a $100 discount on your purchase of any technical manual (valid for one month after your course completion date). By purchasing your technical manual separately, it reduces any excess number of technical manuals in print - and saves trees.
