Module: Innovation Challenge - Integrating Healthy Environments
From stairs design to accessibility of sidewalks and parks and supermarkets, our built environment plays a key role in in determining critical health behaviours. It has a direct impact on the rate of daily physical activity and dietary choices we make.
Developed in partnership with the U.S Green Building Council and Enterprise Community Partners, the aim of the ‘Innovation Challenge - Integrating Healthy Environments’ is to support high-performance, cost-effective and health-promoting project outcomes through an early analysis of the interrelationships among systems.
One of three new Innovation challenges, released by Green Star, ‘Integrating Healthy Environments’ outlines a process that allows project teams to collaborate with public health professionals to use public health data and community input to characterise how a project may positively or negatively impact social, environmental and economic outcomes.
