In-house Green Star Courses
Thu 29 Jan, 2009 In-house Green Star Courses
One of the key benefits of membership of the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) is access to in-house versions of our highly popular Green Star courses.
If your company is a member of the GBCA and needs to equip large numbers of staff, clients, or whole project teams with a solid knowledge of green building practices and how to apply Green Star rating tools to building projects, then in-house training is the most cost and time effective solution.
Course programs
The GBCA offers in-house versions of all our courses, including:
- Green Star Foundation Course (Full day)
- Green Star Office Interiors (Half day)
- Green Star Project Certification Workshop (Half day)
We also offer half day Green Star specific courses in:
Benefits of in-house training
GBCA members consistently rate in-house training as one of the most valuable benefits of their membership, as it offers access to the same high quality programs available to the public, but with the following additional advantages:
- Train a large number of staff at the same time
- Invite key clients, suppliers and contractors who work with your company on Green Star projects
- Choose the Course Presenter from our Green Star Faculty with industry experience most attuned to your organisation's needs
- Customise courses to the needs of your staff and organisational objectives
- Run the course at a time and location convenient for your organisation
From experience, we know that the 'whole team' approach of in-house courses is a key factor in ensuring that your team understands each person's role in achieving the targeted Green Star rating, and helps your company to more easily achieve your Green Star goals.
Course Fees
Full day courses cost $450 (inc. GST) per participant
Half day courses cost $250 (inc. GST) per participant
A minimum number of 20 participants is usually required for a course, although alternative arrangements may be possible for smaller numbers - please contact our Education Team to discuss.
The maximum number of participants for courses is 50.
Once course participants have attended the Green Star Foundation course, they may choose to join the GBCA's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program. CPD program biennel fee is $220 for members. A corporate rate is available for member organisations with more than 25 employees in the CPD program.
Course participants wanting to become a Green Star Accredited Professional must complete the Green Star Accredited Professional exam after attending the Green Star Foundation course and meet all other eligibility requirements. The exam fee is $150 per exam.
Technical manuals
We encourage companies to purchase an appropriate number of the relevant technical manual, so that course participants can refer to them throughout the course.
All course participants will receive a $100 discount off the purchase of any technical manual (valid for one month after the course). This discount applies to all the technical manuals available from our Online Store including the popular Green Star Office Design & As Built v3 technical manual, which is the focus of the Green Star Accredited Professional course. Please note that course participants planning to sit the Green Star Accredited Professional exam must study the Green Star Office Design & As Built v3 technical manual prior to the exam.
Please contact our Education Team for assistance in claiming the discounted technical manual price if you plan to order multiple copies for your company.
