Green Star Associate

Accountants, lawyers and IT professionals are all recognised for their ongoing commitment to professional development. Now you can receive industry recognition too.

The Green Star Associate level acknowledges professionals who support green building design, construction and operation across their various roles. It may be appropriate for professionals in architecture, building, manufacturing, finance, sales, communication, HR and administration who work with elements of Green Star or green buildings but are not responsible for preparing submissions for registered Green Star projects.

Green Star Associates have access to a support network of green building specialists and receive recognition for their commitment to personal development. The Green Star Associate level also provides a pathway to become a Green Star Accredited Professional if an individual has no experience working on Green Star or green building projects.

Becoming a Green Star Associate

To become a Green Star Associate you will need to:

1. Complete the Green Star Foundation Course. Once you have completed the Green Star Foundation course, you have two years to enrol in the CPD program.
2. Enrol in the CPD program and pay your biennial fee.

This level does not require you to pass the Online GSAP Exam or provide eligibility documentation.

You will then have two years to complete:

• 15 CPD points (of which 5 CPD points need to be achieved through GBCA courses and events).
• The online Green Star Refresher Course - 2 CPD points.

A Green Star Associate certificate will be available to download from the Downloads section of your Profile upon your enrollment in the CPD program.

A Green Star Associate may achieve CPD points by attending both GBCA and non-GBCA courses, events and activities that are related to sustainability in the built environment. Points can also be accrued through indirect involvement in a Green Star Project.
