Outcomes

Provides an introduction on what the GECA ecolabel represents. The robustness of our standards with a focus on the Flooring Coverings standard and how the ecolabel can assist architects and interior designers to specify for green building projects in Australia and globally.

Relevance

Understanding and awareness of sustainable materials and products specifically for the built environment and how specifying third party certified products can contribute to Green Star and WELL buildings. Increase awareness and understanding of Green Star.

About Shaila Divakarla
Shaila is a registered architect holding a Ph.D. in sustainable architecture with more than 10yrs of experience in the industry/practice combined with teaching/tutoring experience. Shaila is a GSAP, Greensmart professional and an accredited NatHERS/BASIX assessor. Her work has spanned across design, research, project coordination and education/training. Her passion for sustainability is supported by a proven track record in championing sustainable project builds and housing.
