IBPSA Melbourne Seminar - Modelling for Net Zero Energy Facility and Early Stage Modelling with Grasshopper
Tim Bush (NDY) ) will presents on an all-electric Net Zero Energy facility in Victoria and how energy modeling informed the design process. David Mahoney (AECOM) will talk about the use of Grasshopper parametric modelling tools, including Honeybee and Ladybug.
The participants will learn about the passive design strategies, and lighting, HVAC strategies, how particular technologies & products were selected and how the design team worked together. On the Early Stage Modelling with Grasshopper, the participants will learn on how Honeybee and Ladybug can inform early stage design, from façade and shading options to impacts on HVAC loads, day lighting and glare potential.
The adoption of net zero energy in projects should be encouraged in order to move the industry to the next level of energy efficiency level. Early stage modelling tool will provide opportunities to inform design early for a better outcome.
