Green Star - Communities Foundation Course
Western Australia is now a leader in the development of masterplanned communities, with two world-class precincts having achieved Green Star – Communities certification in the past year alone, and six more on the way.
But, what is it that makes Alkimos Beach, and the Curtin University Bentley Campus be a shining example of sustainable development worldwide? What makes Green Star – Communities be the leading rating system in this space? And how can you maximise your knowledge about this ground-breaking and holistic sustainability rating system?
The Green Star – Communities Foundation Course teaches the fundamentals of this leading rating tool. Over four hours, you will learn from Jeya Bavan, Curtin’s Portfolio Manager - Project Integration & Sustainability, the principles and outcomes sought by the rating tool, and how to successfully deliver a world-class rating.
Last year over 37 million square meters of certified precincts were rated. This means that more than 90,000 residents will be living in healthier, more liveable, and more sustainable communities. Are you ready to deliver the future of Australia?
How is the course delivered?
The learning format consists of a lecture, Q&A, case studies and small group activities, which provide attendees with:
- knowledge of the principles underpinning Green Star – Communities
- an awareness of the outcomes sought by the rating tool
- an understanding of the certification process
- an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that must be met to deliver a world-class development; and
- an understanding of what is required to deliver a successful rating.
The Green Star – Communities Foundation Course is also an important first step towards becoming a Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP) – Communities.
