4.1 Climate Futures for Tasmania

The Tasmanian Government, in partnership with the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre, the Australian Government and Hydro Tasmania, has funded the Climate Futures for Tasmania Project. The project models the predicted impacts of climate change on Tasmania and provides a critical basis for future decision-making.

Climate modelling for the project is complete and a report on general climate change impacts was released in October 2010. A further six reports on priority issues including agriculture, water resources, infrastructure and severe weather events will be released in early 2011.
