Director - National Policy and Public Affairs and State Manager ACT -
Dave Peebles

Dave Peebles is the Director for National Policy and Public Affairs at the Green Building Council.

Dave is one of Canberra's most qualified policy experts, with a PhD, Master of Business Administration, Master of Education, Graduate Diploma of Arts, a law degree and an arts degree. He is currently studying environmental issues at ANU.

Dave is a published author, and has written a number of opinion pieces for The Canberra Times. In April 2008, Dave was chosen as one of Australia's 'best and brightest minds', and represented Canberra at the 2020 Summit.

Dave previously working as a policy adviser at the Legislative Assembly and at Parliament House, and as a consultant for federal and ACT government departments. Prior to this, Dave spent three years in Moscow where he worked for UNICEF, the UNDP and the Russian Orphan Opportunity Fund (ROOF). ROOF provides Russian orphans with teachers and tutors to help them escape poverty.

Dave has also had a distinguished career with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, working on human rights, trade and counter-terrorism. He has also served as a peace monitor in Bougainville, and was awarded the Australian Service Medal.

State Manager QLD/NT - Adam Beck

Adam comes to the GBCA from the Arup Sustainability team in Brisbane. Adam is a Green Star Accredited Professional and has worked on several projects seeking Green star certification. He has been a member of the Green Star Faculty team for several years, during which time he has presented the Green Star Accredited Professional course.

Adam will take over the role of the Qld/NT State Manager from Andrew Aitken, who will be focusing on his new role as Director - Green Star. Andrew will manage the technical team responsible for Green Star tool development.

State Manager VIC and SA - Trudy-Ann King

Formerly a Practice Director with Australian firm, BVN Architecture, Trudy-Ann spent 15 years leading project teams in the delivery of internationally published, award winning, sustainable outcomes.

She has been actively involved in the Green Building Council of Australia since its inception and regularly presents both nationally and internationally at forums and conferences on sustainable design.

Her current roles encompass the ongoing development of the Australian property industry as a sustainable entity and the development of Green Building Councils throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Trudy-Ann works closely with industry and government to find opportunities for sustainability to be more strongly embedded into best practice and supported in Australia, while nurturing green building council development and education in emerging World GBC nations.

Trudy-Ann also holds the position of Asia Pacific Regional Manager for the World Green Building Council

State Manager WA - Nadja Kampfhenkel
Nadja is an engineer by background and certified environmental and quality manager. She has six years experience working in the building industry oversees as design engineer and in project management, being involved in worldwide recognized projects like the Sony Centre on the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin or various projects in London working for architects like Murphy Jahn or Sir Norman Foster.

She was also involved with Local Agenda 21 projects in Berlin and her work was published as part of the research report series of the Institute for Future Studies and Technology Assessment.

Living since January 2006 in Western Australia, the state of her choice, Nadja worked with a state government agency and a redevelopment authority as Senior Policy Officer Sustainability where she was responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing sustainability strategies related to environmental, economic and social outcomes and providing advice in regards to sustainability matters before commencing her work with the Green Building Council of Australia in May 2008.

In her role as WA State Manager she is responsible for all state based activities including Government relations, member services and Green Star project support. She also presents regularly at forums and conferences on sustainable design and above all is responsible to ensure Western Australian interests are represented during the development of GBCA strategies and Green Star tool development.
