GBCA Board

The Green Building Council of Australia has strong cross-sectoral corporate and government support, to ensure stakeholder representation from all components of a building's delivery chain.

The GBCA's robust constitution ensures that no single industry group can form a majority on its board of directors. Individuals and industry and trade associations are excluded from membership. There is a code of conduct GBCA members have to adhere to.

Board members are respected industry leaders and senior government representatives who are widely recognised for their contribution towards furthering sustainable development.

The board spills every two years with approximately one third of the board being open to new members. Nominations are sought biennially. Members are eligible to nominate a candidate to serve on the GBCA board and each member has one vote, giving them an equal voice from within the Council.

Nominations for the board will be sought for the next spill in November 2008.
