Queensland Government announces 'cleaner, greener buildings policy'
Speaking at the Asia Pacific region's leading green building conference, Green Cities 09, the Queensland Premier Anna Bligh launched a range of measures in the 'Cleaner, Greener Buildings Policy', which included a commitment that, if re-elected, the Queensland Government would mandate a six star energy efficiency rating for all homes by 2010. New 'green era' for government building
The Queensland State Government has begun a new 'green' era in the way it builds and fits out public buildings. Minister for Public Works, Robert Schwarten, announced on Tuesday 28 April that the Green Building Council of Australia's 5-star Green Star excellence rating was now the standard for new government offices.
